My name is Ingrid Vasquez and I am a storyteller.

"I was put on this world to tell stories. I like helping other people tell stories, enjoy telling my

story, and love working with others to create a story."

I was born a shy person but at only 11 years old knew I loved to write. I guess I liked to write because I had trouble speaking - literally. I didn't talk till I was 4 and even had to visit with a speech therapist till I was in the 1st grade.  In 6th grade  I met the woman that by profession was an English teacher, but introduced me to what I was put in the world to do - TELL STORIES. The biggest lesson I learned from her was the power of words. But words can be spoken in many ways. And as a person who gets bored easily, that was what fascinated me. I consider myself a music enthusiast because beats and melodies tell stories. I am a WWE superfan because every move and ring match add to a bigger story. I am a student of pop culture because I love examing the effect it has on the stories of ours and our future generation.  Stories our everywhere.  So call me a storyteller! I tend to be referred to as a writer but I do a lot more of that. Whether it may be working in a mentoring role, acting as a receptionist,  writing about my experiences,  or creating content for a nonprofit orginazation, I like helping others and hope I can continue doing that in which ever way that may be.

It's hard to understand my mission. So let me put it this way.

Everything you see on byingridvasquez.com is another brick added to the byingridvasquez brand. I pride myself in adding ''by'' before my work because that is what I strived for during my early stages as a freelance writer. All  I wanted was a byline!  Now a days though that's more of a statement. ''That person was helped BY me.'' "That content was created BY me.''  I don't know what work will be done by me next but in a few years I'll probably be doing all of this (in no particular order):  I'll be a  New Yorker with a promintent role in an entertainment magazine; a syndicated columnist (think the Latina, social justice version of Carrie Bradshaw); a co-developer of an award winning screenplay; a founder of an organization focused on creating and funding projects that educate others on and promote race, diversity, and mental health; a children's book series author, a personal life and business coach, and the nonforprofit founder of "Back-to-Back": an organization focused on dressing underprivigledged communities in the USA and Mexico.

But that's someday .... let's talk more TODAY. Just fill out the form below!
